FAQ — Bildly websites
for trades businesses.
Pricing, timelines, domain ownership, and what happens after you pay — answered plainly. Anything missing? Email us and we’ll add it.
How does the pricing work? What am I actually paying for?
Two numbers matter: the build fee and the optional Care Plan.
Build fee is a one-time flat charge. 50% deposit holds your slot; the balance is due only after you've approved the finished site. Nothing is due until you're happy.
•• Pro Site — $850 flat
•• Trades Site — $1,450 flat (per-service pages, booking, area pages)
•• Flagship — bespoke quote
Care Plan is optional — hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, and monthly updates. Pro Care $50/mo. Trades Care $99/mo. Cancel any time; the site keeps running. No kill switch.
Compare to a local agency at $5,000–$15,000 over six weeks, or Wix at $23/mo where you own nothing. Bildly is flat-fee, delivered in days, and yours outright.
What does "see your site before you pay" actually mean?
It means you see before you pay — no exceptions. The preview is built and live before you spend a cent. Fill out the intake form — free, no card — and within minutes you get a real, functioning preview of your site built from your business name, category, and location.
You review it. You request changes. Only once you decide you want to go forward do you pay the deposit (50% of the build fee), which locks your build slot. The remaining 50% is due only after the finished site is approved.
Filling out the form is free. Requesting revisions on the preview is free. You pay nothing until you say yes. And once you do pay and the site launches — you own it outright. No rental, no subscription required to keep it online.
How long does it take to get my mockup?
Minutes, not days. The preview is generated right after you fill out the intake form — usually within 2–5 minutes.
In many cases the preview is already built before you fill out the form. Our system finds local service businesses and builds a preview automatically. If we reached out first, your preview is likely waiting at the link in that email.
For signups at /start: submit the form and your preview link lands in your inbox within minutes. No calls first.
The mockup is a real, live site — not a screenshot or PDF. Open it on your phone, share it with a partner, and request changes before you spend a cent.
Do I actually own the site — or is this another rental?
You own everything. No asterisks.
•• Your domain — registered in your name (or we transfer it to you within 30 days if we register it on your behalf).
•• Your code — the full website files are delivered at launch. Any developer can open them, modify them, or move them. We're not in the chain.
•• Your hosting — your account, your control from day one. Not ours.
The Pro Site is live in 7 days — and ownership transfers at that moment. Not "once you've paid enough" or "after a 12-month commitment." Day 7, launch day, it's yours.
Cancel the Care Plan any time. The site keeps running. Nothing changes. There is no lock-in because there is nothing to lock. Wix, Squarespace, and most website builders trap you — cancel and the site disappears. Bildly is the opposite.
Own-it means: the domain is yours, the code is yours, the hosting is yours. No permission needed from us — ever.
What trades and service industries do you build sites for?
Any service business that works locally and doesn't have a site — or has one that hasn't been touched in years.
Common verticals:
•• Contractors & trades — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, drywall, painting, flooring, fencing
•• Outdoor & landscape — lawn care, landscaping, tree service, irrigation, pressure washing
•• Auto & towing — auto repair, mobile mechanics, towing, detailing
•• Cleaning — residential, commercial, carpet, windows, gutters
•• Food & beverage — food trucks, catering, bakeries, small restaurants
•• Personal services — barbers, salons, massage, pet grooming
•• Professional services — bookkeeping, tax prep, notary, inspectors
If your business runs on phone calls and local Google searches, we build for you.
I don't have a website at all. Is that a problem?
No — starting from zero is actually the easiest path for us. Most clients have never had a site, or they have a placeholder page from 2017 that hasn't been touched since. Either way, the process is the same.
We build sites for businesses that are invisible online. You don't need anything in place. We pull your Google Business profile (if you have one), your business name, and a short description of what you do.
In many cases a preview is already built before you fill out the form — our system finds local service businesses and gets the draft ready. No hosting account, no domain, no existing content required. We handle the full setup from zero — and you see the site before you pay a cent.
I'm not technical at all. How does this actually work?
You don't touch any code — ever. Here's the whole thing:
1. Fill out one short form. Business name, what you do, the city you serve, a sentence or two about what makes you different.
2. Upload a logo and a few photos — or skip it (see the question below).
3. We guide you through the domain. If you have one, we walk you through pointing it. If you need one, we register it and handle the setup entirely.
4. A preview is ready in minutes. You get a live link to your site before any money changes hands. You see it, request changes, and only pay once you're happy to go forward.
That's it. No software to install. No hosting dashboards. No decisions about databases or servers. You own the finished site outright — we handle every technical detail so you can focus on your business.
How is the site actually built? Is it just an AI template?
It starts with AI — and it doesn't stop there. Our system pulls your business name, category, reviews, and location to generate a real, working site specific to you. That's not a theme dropped on a form; it's a site written and structured around your actual business.
Every mockup goes through a human review pass before it reaches you. Layout, copy, and photos are checked to make sure they're on-brand and accurate — anything generic or off gets fixed.
The finished site is hand-verified before launch: links tested, mobile checked, load speed confirmed. You see exactly what you're getting before you pay — what you approve is what goes live. No surprises.
What if I'm not happy — with the mockup, or with the finished site?
Both stages are covered. You see the mockup before you pay a cent, and you have a full 7-day revision window once the build starts. The deposit (50% upfront) reserves your build slot — it doesn't lock you into any design you don't love.
Not happy with the mockup? Tell us exactly what's wrong — layout, copy, colors, photos, anything. Revision rounds on the preview are free. We adjust it before you pay the deposit.
Not happy after the build? Submit change requests through the customer portal during the 7-day window. We go back in and revise. Most clients land on something they're proud of in one or two rounds.
Still not right? If we've been through revision rounds and it genuinely isn't working, you can walk away and we'll refund the deposit in full. No store credit, no back-and-forth. We'd rather refund than have a site in the world you're embarrassed by.
I don't have a logo or professional photos. Can you still build it?
Yes, and most clients are in this situation.
No logo? We design one for $50 — wordmark, color palette, and favicon. Clean and professional. Most service businesses don't need more than that to start.
No photos? We source them. Google Street View gives us your location. Curated stock libraries have solid construction, HVAC, landscaping, and food photography. We pick images that match your business category and won't look generic with the right layout around them.
You can always swap in real photos later through the customer portal — and we encourage it. Real photos always outperform stock.
I already have a domain. What happens to it?
We work with what you have.
If your domain is at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, or anywhere else — we send you simple step-by-step instructions (two settings to change, five minutes). Or, if you grant us temporary access, we make the changes ourselves at no extra charge.
Your site goes live at a preview URL while the change spreads across the internet (usually 24–72 hours). Once it's live, the preview redirects and everything runs off your real domain.
We don't take ownership of your domain. It stays in your account. We just point it at your new site.
Do I need a domain? What if I don't have one yet?
No — if you don't have a domain, we handle it.
1. We register it on your behalf — availability check, options if your first choice is taken, registered through our account. Domain registration is included in the build.
2. Your site goes live at a staging URL first — share it, review it, approve it before the custom domain is live.
3. We transfer ownership to you within 30 days — domain moves to your own registrar. You own it outright. We never hold it over you.
4. Annual renewal: $25/yr through the Care Plan — we manage renewals so the domain never lapses.
Either way, the domain is yours from day 30 forward.
How fast is "fast"? Give me real numbers.
Pro Site (most service businesses): live in 7 days — guaranteed.
Day 0: mockup ready (you see it before you pay a cent). Day 1: you review and approve. Days 2–6: we build, refine, and verify. Day 7: launch — and you own it outright from this moment.
If we miss the 7-day deadline on a Pro Site, your deposit is credited. No excuses, no negotiation.
Trades Site (multi-location or specialized service-area pages): 10 days.
Flagship (fully custom design, integrations, booking, e-commerce): custom timeline scoped at the start of the project.
These are working-day commitments, not estimates.
I've paid the deposit. What happens next?
Here's the exact sequence from deposit to launch (Pro tier, 7 days):
•• Day 0 — deposit paid: build slot reserved, 14-day free trial on the Care Plan starts. You get a confirmation with a link to your customer portal.
•• Day 1 — kickoff: we confirm your business details, domain choice, and any assets you want included. About 10 minutes by email.
•• Days 2–6 — build + revisions: your draft appears in the customer portal. You review it, submit change requests, and we apply them. Most clients use one or two rounds.
•• Day 7 — launch: site goes live at your domain. You receive the full site files, your hosting credentials, and a handover checklist. You own it — completely, from this moment forward.
If we miss the 7-day deadline on a Pro Site, your deposit is credited. No excuses, no negotiation. You never go dark — the customer portal shows your build status at every stage.
Can I edit my site after it goes live? How do changes work?
Log into the customer portal and submit a change request. Describe what you want updated — new service, updated hours, a different photo, a new page — and we apply it.
How much is included depends on your Care Plan tier:
•• Pro Care ($50/mo): one round of updates per month (no rollover), email support.
•• Trades Care ($99/mo): up to two hours of edits per month, priority response.
•• Flagship Care ($499–999/mo): priced per project, dedicated support.
Every change is reviewed and tested before it goes live. You don't touch any code or log into a content system. You tell us what you want and we do it.
What happens if I cancel the Care Plan?
Nothing bad. The site keeps running — that's the guarantee.
The Care Plan covers hosting, SSL, uptime monitoring, and monthly updates. If you cancel, we send you plain-English transfer instructions and move hosting to your own account. Most service-business sites run fine on a free hosting tier with no traffic limits.
Your domain, your code, your site — you own it outright from day 7. No long-term contract, no notice period, no penalty. Cancel any month, billing stops at the end of the period. There's no kill switch. We're not Wix.
What happens after the free period? When does billing start?
The Care Plan starts with a 14-day free trial from your deposit date. No charge for the first two weeks.
•• Day 0 (deposit): build slot reserved; 14-day trial starts.
•• Day 7: site launches (Pro tier) — you own it outright from this moment.
•• Day 11: reminder email — charge coming in 3 days.
•• Day 14: monthly billing starts — $50/mo Pro, $99/mo Trades.
Cancel before day 14 from the customer portal: no charge, no questions. After the trial, cancel any time and billing stops at period end. No contract. Month-to-month. Canceling the Care Plan never changes your ownership of the site.
Can I edit my site myself, or do I have to go through Bildly?
Both paths are open — you own the site outright either way. No permission needed from us.
Let Bildly handle it: Submit a change request through the customer portal. We apply it, review and test it, and push it live. You never touch code. That's what the Care Plan is for.
Edit it yourself: At launch you receive the full website source files. Any developer can open them, make changes, and publish updates directly from your own hosting account.
Hand it to someone else: Hire any developer or agency to take over. You own the code and the hosting project completely. No transfer fee, no exit penalty, no permission needed from Bildly.
Canceling the Care Plan never restricts your ability to edit or move the site. You own it — full stop.
What happens after the 7 days? What does the ongoing relationship look like?
Day 7 is launch — not the end of the relationship. Here's what changes and what doesn't:
What you receive at launch: the full site files, your hosting credentials, and a plain-English handover checklist. The site is yours, completely, from this moment forward. You already approved every pixel before you paid the final 50%.
What stays the same: the customer portal stays open. Change requests, questions, and support tickets keep flowing through the same inbox. If you're on the Care Plan, your monthly update allotment kicks in immediately.
If you cancel the Care Plan: nothing happens to your site. It keeps running on your own hosting account. You see before you pay, you own it when you launch, and you keep it no matter what you decide afterward.
The 7-day deadline is a guarantee — if we miss it on a Pro Site, your deposit is credited. Day 8 onward is just owning a site you're proud of.
How exactly does the see-before-you-pay guarantee work? Walk me through it.
It works in three steps — no card required until step three.
Step 1 — Free preview. Fill out the intake form at /start. No card, no deposit. Within minutes (often within seconds if we've already pulled your business) you get a real, live site preview: not a screenshot, not a PDF. You can open it on your phone and share it with a partner.
Step 2 — Free revisions on the preview. You review the mockup. If the layout is wrong, the photos are generic, or the copy misses the mark — tell us. We adjust it. This back-and-forth is completely free. You see before you pay — no exceptions.
Step 3 — Deposit only once you're ready. Once the preview looks right and you want to move forward, you pay the 50% deposit. That locks your 7-day build slot. The remaining 50% is due only after the finished site is approved at launch.
If the finished build misses the mark after revisions, you can walk away and the deposit is refunded in full. No store credit. No back-and-forth.
Can I move the site to a different host? What if I want to leave Bildly entirely?
Yes — completely, with zero friction. Hosting portability is a core part of the ownership guarantee.
At launch you receive the full website source files. Any developer can take those files and deploy them anywhere — a different hosting provider, your own server, or a platform of your choosing. No proprietary format. No locked-in build system. No permission needed from Bildly.
The domain follows the same rule: it's registered in your name (or transferred to your registrar within 30 days if we registered it on your behalf). Your domain goes where you go.
Practically: moving a Bildly site takes a developer 30–60 minutes. That's the same effort as moving any standard website. We can also hand off detailed instructions if you want to DIY it.
Cancel the Care Plan any month — billing stops at period end, and we send you plain-English transfer instructions for the hosting handoff. No exit fee. No notice period. No data held hostage.
What's actually included in the Care Plan? What am I paying for each month?
The Care Plan covers four things:
•• Hosting — your site runs on fast, reliable infrastructure. Uptime monitoring runs 24/7; if the site goes down, we get paged before you do.
•• SSL certificate — managed and auto-renewed. Your site stays on HTTPS, no action needed from you.
•• Monthly updates — Pro Care ($50/mo) includes one round of updates per month: new service page, updated hours, a photo swap, copy changes. Trades Care ($99/mo) includes up to two hours of edits. Every change is reviewed and tested before it goes live.
•• Priority support — questions go to a named inbox, not a ticket queue.
What the Care Plan is NOT: a required subscription. Cancel any month from the customer portal — billing stops at period end, your site keeps running, and we hand off the hosting to your own account.
The site is yours whether or not you stay on the Care Plan. The plan just means we keep it fast, secure, and updated without you lifting a finger.
See a mockup of your site first.
No payment required.
Tell us your business name and what you do. We’ll generate a live preview. You only pay a deposit if you want us to build it for real.
